Zog – Julia Donaldson & Axel Scheffler
Ages 3 years and up…. Another beautiful book to sparkle the minds of children of all ages from the talented pen of Julia Donaldson and the spellbinding brush of Axel Scheffler. This book tells of a group of young dragons as they work their way through each year of dragon school. Zog is a keen little dragon, but he is a bit accident prone and as such he finds help from the unlikeliest of sources – but I won’t give away any more, only to say that it has a remarkable end. My daughter loves this story and the fantastic and colourful images throughout, it makes for a lovely bedtime read.
Lavishly illustrated by Axel Scheffler and with lots of potential to add one’s own spin at bedtime, this is a must for every aspiring dragon lover.
Winner too of the Galaxy National Children’s Book of the Year 2010 – so it must be good – this is a British literary award that’s awarded every year for outstanding works of childrens literature and this is a deserved winner.
I’ve listed the three options, the first one is the hardcover, the next is the paperback and the third is the board book for those inquisitive little fingers and is designed to survive the rough and tumble of those not accustomed to handling paper books.
